3 April 2020, Going for a walk

I’m not talking just walking. Foot on the ground. Foot off the ground. Breath in. Breath out. Feeling alive and oh so grateful that I can fulfill this wonderful activity with a measure of ease and grace.

Beach walking where the senses are stimulated by the shape of the sand and the shock of the cold water. Horizons extending forever.

Cliff walking. Moving to the edge feeling the vulnerability. Letting go of the fear. Watching the seagulls being lifted by the updraft.

Walking in suburban streets. Looking at the letterboxes and imagining the life lived in those boxes. The perfumed roses. The wildwood air. The judging of people passing by.

Barefooted walking is a great way to feel connected to  a world that seems to have lost its meaning as I have known it. Will my favourite shoes still be made? Will I still make money to buy those shoes? Just walking. Ain’t talking.

Finishing. Finishing. Blah blah blah…
